Green cardamom pods
(you can increase or decrease to adjust the prominence of the cardamom flavour)
Instructions
Rub the butter and flour together.
Grind the middle of the cardamom pods into powder and discard the shells of the pods (a mortar and pestle is ideal for this)
Add the sugar and the ground cardamom.
Mix the milk in with the dry ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C fan
Roll out the scone mix on a lightly floured surface to 1.5cm-2cm deep. Cut into triangles.
Place the scones on a baking tray and brush with the beaten egg. Bake for 14-16 minutes (until lightly golden)
Place the scones on a cooling rack ( with a clean tea towel if you have one handy)
